2022 has been a remarkable year for Vestwell, earning four Best Places to Work awards (and counting). We went straight to the source, our employees, to hear why they think Vestwell is one of the “best places to work” in the country.
Time and time again, Vestwell has been tested against the best and come out on top. After undergoing a two-part survey process that evaluated workplace policies, practices, demographics, and employee sentiment, American Banker named Vestwell one of the 2022 Best Places to Work in Financial Technology.
Vestwell was also recognized as one of America’s Best Startup Employers by Forbes for the second year in a row and a three-time winner of Built In’s Best Place to Work and Best Benefits in NYC.
With over 100% employee growth in 2021, these awards are confirmation that Vestwell’s mission and history of excellence act as a beacon for top talent. Our goal is to close the savings gap across the country. To do this, we’re building a unified savings platform across retirement, education, and healthcare, designed to deliver the elevated experience that every saver deserves.
We’re proud to have an amazing team committed to the concept of #OneVestwell, which underlines each of our company’s core values. #OneVestwell is at the foundation of how we treat each other, our clients, our partners, and all the savers we serve. Our core values are as follows: Act like an owner, Look for the better way, Embrace the difficult, and Help me, help you, help us.
Building on our #OneVestwell foundation, our company culture is rooted in our diversity and inclusion initiatives. It is essential that everyone on the Vestwell team feel respected, included, and inspired. Our comprehensive Diversity in the Workplace and Managing Unconscious Biases (DEIB) strategy ensures we hire from all walks of life and has helped us build a team of truly unique team players. We also use the Insights Discovery tool to encourage team members to communicate more effectively, embrace each other’s differences, and increase overall engagement.
Additionally, our internal employee resource groups have built another layer of community within the organization. These groups have budgets for speaker series, external mentorship programs, and other professional development opportunities. Through our partnership with OfColor, we also offer 1:1 coaching, mentoring, and education around financial wellness for our BIPOC employees.
Our mission isn’t just talk—we believe it. Naturally, this means we offer a top-of-the-line 401(k) plan for all employees regardless of their status: full-time, part-time, or intern. We also go a step further and offer employer matching for all employees, regardless of whether they contribute, and have even removed all service requirements and fees to administer the plan. Of course, savings come in many forms, so we also offer all full-time employees a new hire equity grant, as it encourages employees to have a personal stake in the success of the company.
With so many wonderful teammates located throughout the country, we have a remote-hybrid office policy. All employees are welcome at our bright, modern office in midtown Manhattan, but we’re happy to let you work wherever suits you best. We’re also proud to offer an unlimited vacation policy, competitive health coverage, and many leading benefits to ensure our employees feel supported.
Beyond these, we also sponsor “wellbeing budgets,” providing all employees with a pre-loaded credit card to be used at their discretion. We’ve doubled our parental leave policy from eight weeks to 16 weeks and introduced a reduced work schedule upon return to help parents ease back into work without any reduction in their pay. We also removed any requirements between a primary and secondary caregiver to encourage all parents to take time for bonding without having to worry about job security or their wages.
Physical, mental well-being, and health costs directly impact financial wellness for employees, especially women employees. For that reason, we offer a company-sponsored HSA that also serves as an investment vehicle that can directly support the financial health of employees. At Vestwell, we cover 100% of the benefits and provide a monthly employer contribution.
We have a variety of open opportunities in sales, retirement services, and technology. To learn more and explore the full list of open roles, click here.
